Racehorses bred in the United States[edit]

The merger of "Category:Racehorses bred in the United States" with the ambiguously titled category "American racehorses" was completely WRONG and seems to have been carried out by people with no knowledge of horseracing.

We are now back to the old unsatisfactory mixture of horses bred or trained in the USA with no distinction between the two.

A horse such as Miesque, trained in France by François Boutin, should not be described as an "American racehorse", nor should Sadler's Wells, trained in Ireland by Vincent O'Brien. Both horses were born in the USA, but to attribute a nationality to these horses on this basis is misleading.

It is important that "Category:Racehorses bred in the United States" is reinstated and that "Category:American racehorses" is deleted - and I shall do the deed myself if necessary!
