Moved authors[edit]

Per my agreement with the edit summary from this change; I moved the authors Amy Tan and Maxine Hong Kingston out of this category. They are in Category:Chinese American writers in addition to other categories for people, not works.DomBot talk ; Chidom talk, owner/operator. 03:17, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Scope[edit]

I've been trying to figure out what to do with Iranian- and Afghan-American authors, since they aren't Arab American and since many definitions of Asian American leave them out as well. However, I see that the UN groups them with the South Asia sub-region, and also that the Asian American Writers' Workshop has included Iranian-American writers in their scope as well ref. Therefore, I feel justified in including Iranian- and Afghan-American authors in this category, at least until some time as a better category for non-Arab West/Central Asian ethnic groups is created.
