One-time vs. continual?[edit]

I suggest that there be separate tags for categories requiring a one-time diffusion (like Category:States of the Holy Roman Empire) and categories requiring continual maintenance (such as Category:Rappers). Anyone else agree? --Hemlock Martinis 04:28, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Addendum: You know, now that I look at it, there are also categories that require diffusion by an editor familiar with the topic (i.e., the more esoteric categories such as Category:Data structures) because a lay person could not do it, or at least not do it as well as someone with experience. --Hemlock Martinis 22:13, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Guidelines for use?[edit]

Anybody watching this and want to discuss guidelines for use and ending the use in a given cat? It looks like the template is sometimes applied when not needed. See "Smallest categories" on project page. Maurreen (talk) 06:33, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Subcategories?[edit]

Category:Categories requiring diffusion requires diffusion. I suggest subcategories including regional ones. Maurreen (talk) 05:14, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiproject categorisation suggestion[edit]

This is rather a large category, and it might be an idea if somebody started a WikiProject devoted to the study of categorisation on Wikipedia.Vorbee (talk) 18:13, 25 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There is one. I have added a banner above for WP:CATP. – Fayenatic London 11:12, 9 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
