Rationale[edit]

We need a classification that includes all minerals. Nickel-Strunz, New Dana and Hey's Chemical Index of Minerals use a similar backbone. We have a somewhat different category tree and there is always clean up to do. We do not need a copyright violation discussion. So this is my compromise proposal. --Chris.urs-o (talk) 07:13, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kievlenko classification[edit]

There is a classification of gemstones by E. Ya. Kievlenko that is shown on many Wikipedia pages but for which there appears to be no explanation. Could someone provide one?Bill (talk) 23:48, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
