FileMaker[edit]

I don't think Claris would ever define FileMaker as a piece of collaborative software. It's collaborative nature as a database might be documented in the feature set, but it would not be a major feature or differentiator of the product. An individual could make a FileMaker Pro database and never share it with another person. I believe the criteria to be categorized as collaborative software should be that it always runs on a server (including cloud) and it's value is only realized when a critical number of people are working on it.
