Is there any reason why this category should not be merged with Category:Parallel computing ? Dyl 16:15, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This question is outside my area of knowledge, but I'll blunder on anyway. The articles Concurrent computing and Parallel computing explain the differences. As I understand it, parallel is a subset of concurrent (which, if we follow that logic, the parallel cat should be a subcat of the concurrent cat). Both categories have enough entries to justify keeping both. I suspect that a good number of the articles in the parallel cat don't fit the strict definition and should be moved to concurrent. My preference is to keep both, unless proper catting reveals there are only a handful left in parallel. There are enough people on WP who follow these fields that hopefully they will weigh in and correct me. JonHarder 17:08, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
