Subway or elevated?[edit]

It appears that all of the lines listed in this category were elevated lines not subway lines. Even the IND World's Fair Line which did connect to the IND subway actually ran over elevated wooden trestles. Should this category be renamed Category:Defunct New York City Elevated lines ? 67.86.73.252 (talk) 00:34, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's right. The title of this is wrong. --ScottyBerg (talk) 20:31, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, the name of this category uses a capital S for "Subway", which would signify that this category is for defunct lines of the New York City Subway system, which includes both elevated and subterranean lines. If the category name used a lower case s for "subway" then it would be for subterranean lines only in New York City. Further discussion should include members of the WP:NYPT project.
