Ethnicity Category Creation Instructions

The following is an outline of how to add ethnic subcategories of the form Category:Ancestral Nationality-Nationality families (E.G., Category:Italian-American families).

If the category Category:Familes of Ancestral Natonality ancestry exists in Category:Families by ancestry (this page) for this ancestral nationality skip this section.

Create a subcategory of the form Category:Familes of Ancestral Natonality ancestry (E.G., Category:Families of Italian ancestry) within Category:Families by ancestry (this page).

1. Enter the text Category:Familes of Ancestral Naitonality ancestry in the search bar and press go.
2. Click on the red Category:Familes of Ancestral Natonality ancestry link at the top of the page to start a new category
3. In the text box enter This category is for groups of related notable individuals from notable families of Ancestral Nationality ancestry.
4. Two lines below that enter [[Category:Families by ancestry|Ancestral Nationality]].
5. Note in the edit bar that you are creating this category.
6. Save the page to create Category:Familes of Ancestral Natonality ancestry.

If the category Category:Natonality families exists in Category:Families by nationality for this nationality skip this section.

Create a subcategory of the form Category:Natonality families (E.G., Category:American families) within Category:Families by nationality.

1. Enter the text Category:Natonality families in the search bar and press go.
2. Click on the red Category:Natonality families link at the top of the page to start a new category
3. In the text box enter This category is for groups of related notable individuals from notable Nationality families.
4. Two lines below that enter [[Category:Families by nationality| Nationality]].
5. Note in the edit bar that you are creating this category.
6. Save the page to create Category:Familes of Ancestral Natonality ancestry.

Now we can create the subcategory of each of these subcategories.

Create a subcategory of the form Category:Ancestral Nationality-Nationality families that is a subcategory of both Category:Familes of Ancestral Natonality ancestry and Category:Natonality families.

1. Enter the text Category:Ancestral Nationality-Nationality families in the search bar and press go.
2. Click on the red Category:Ancestral Nationality-Nationality families link at the top of the page to start a new category
3. In the text box enter This category is for groups of related notable individuals from notable Ancestral Nationality-Nationality families.
4. Two lines below that enter [[Category:Familes of Ancestral Natonality ancestry]]
5. On the following line enter [[Category:Natonality families]].
6. If this category is for later use (you are not going to add any pages or subcategories to this newly created category right away) also enter a line [[Category:Underpopulated categories]]
7. Note in the edit bar that you are creating this category.
8. Save the page to create Category:Ancestral Nationality-Nationality families.
