Family templates[edit]

Why not include Category:Family templates in Category:Family trees as it aids navigation to family trees that are embedded in other articles? -- PBS (talk) 09:59, 26 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

An editor might be at Category:Foobar and want to navigate to any one of many foobar-related pages (Category:Foobar redirects, Category:Foobar disambiguation pages, Category:Foobar portals, Wikipedia:WikiProject Foobar, Wikipedia:MOS/Foobar etc), but we don't clutter Category:Foobar (which is for readers as well as editors) with such pages.  Also, putting non-article categories under article categories impedes maintenance activities - e.g. by preventing use of tools to detect pages in User namespace that are in article categories.
See User:DexDor/Administration pages are not articles for more notes. DexDor (talk) 11:29, 26 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Standardisation?[edit]

Should templates be named "Family tree of X", "X family tree" or X's family tree"? PPEMES (talk) 15:09, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Combine with Category:Genealogy templates[edit]

Why not combine this category with Category:Genealogy templates? Wschroedter (talk) 14:39, 5 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
