While America may be more poetic, is is ambigous. It may refer to "the Americas" or just the United States. That's why we avoid "America" and always use at least "the United States" or even better, "the United States of America". Kevlar67 18:53, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This category is apparently a sub-category of Category:Naturalized citizens of the United States, of which the members are unsurprisingly described as "people who have become Americans through naturalization". But Immigrants to the United States are not necessarily naturalised US citizens, as can be seen by looking at many (most? all?) of the articles in this category.
