Move the category[edit]

This category needs to be moved to Category:Military history of Jewish Americans, as per the renaming of its main article. --La comadreja formerly AFriedman RESEARCH (talk) 08:30, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • On the other hand there is a reason it's named the way it is and should be kept, in keeping with its parent category of Category:Jewish American history. Thanks, IZAK (talk) 10:36, 8 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    • Whose main article is also named History of the Jews in the United States. Perhaps that category should be renamed as well. --La comadreja formerly AFriedman RESEARCH (talk) 22:20, 8 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
      • Hi La comadreja: It can't be done because the parent category is Category:Jewish history by country where all countries' Jewish histories are named Category:Jewish _____ history, otherwise names and titles become too long and cumbersome and pointless because the main focus is Jewish history, all aptly and correctly based on the truly main article of Jewish history, and its super-category of Category:Jewish history. I have been working on these categories for years, so I am well aware of most of the complexities and how they come together. Bottom line, ALWAYS remember: if it ain't broke, don't fix it! • Also note, it is NOT always about the history of the "Jews" because "JEWISH history" encompasses far more than what did or did not happen to Jews or what Jews did or did not do. There are always other greater factors at work in any historical calculations that include subjects and areas that are not just about Jews as such but that are definitely part of Jewish history as a subject.
