Inclusion criteria[edit]

The description of the category has been tweaked from "substantially cover such issues" to "substantively cover such issues". Either way it seems arbitrary even if it might have been tightened up a bit. How can we determine if a particular episode is either "substantially" or "substantively" covering LGBT issues enough to make the episode "LGBT-related". Is it the presence of an LGBT character? Mention of LGBT terms? Sexual tension between a same-sex pair of characters who may have been presumed to be heterosexual? Is this predicated on descriptions in reliable and verifiable sources, or are individual editors entitled to make their own determination? How much of any of these characteristics are enough to meet the inclusion criteria? What does the change from "substantially" or "substantively" accomplish? It's obviously hard to come up with specifics for what can be tagged with this category, and what can't. I think anything where the plot focuses around an LGBT issue, it should be tagged. An episode having just an LGBT character, with nothing else, doesn't warrant a tag, otherwise, for example, we'd be tagging every The Simpsons episode with Patty who is a lesbian. So I think just main plot points that focus on LGBT related issues. CTJF83Talk 21:29, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
