coverage[edit]

Beside ten player pages now in the category, Marshall Wright lists these members of the 1870 team.

  • Brown, 1870 1b
  • Ed Shelley, 1870 3b

That is two regulars and two subs. I give red links to the major leaguers.

The Unions were a championship contender 1867-1868 but did not "go pro" when the NABBP permitted fully professional teams for 1869; consequently the team declined. Passing over the 1869 team and taking the 1868, Shelley and Reynolds were regular players there were three other regulars not yet mentioned.

Six more 1868 Unions (for a team of ten) have pages in the category: Austin, Bellan, Birdsall, Pabor, Wright. --P64 (talk) 01:07, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
