Infobox project
Is anyone here experienced with infoboxes? I'm considering porting information in the "fact sheets" to a table but thought I'd see if there's anybody with infobox/table experience first. - Diceman 13:55, 15 September 2005 (UTC)
This is what I've come up with using the Infobox Arcade Game template but I'm having a hard time deciding if an arid or a green colour should be used for all of them. Perhaps either could be used depending on the park's climate. - Diceman 16:18, 15 September 2005 (UTC)
Looks good. Stick with one colour for them all - I think I prefer the green, but don't mind much. Is there a word or phrase to describe each IUCN category that could be added to the number and wikilinked (such as national park)? I notice the IUCN page doesn't link the names, and the national park page doesn't seem to mention IUCN :-( --Scott DavisTalk 13:05, 16 September 2005 (UTC)
I like the dirt colour but the green is easier to look at. Most of the parks are probably in wetter areas anyway so green it is. - Diceman 15:25, 16 September 2005 (UTC)
The shade of green is reminiscent of eucalyptus to me, which represents Australian National Parks to the world. If you're going to standardise all the Australian parks, you get to choose :-) Well done. --Scott DavisTalk 01:42, 17 September 2005 (UTC)
The prior infobox was developed as part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Protected areas, and the color scheme coincided with IUCN protected status (see Wikipedia:WikiProject Protected Areas/General -- with the Australian example recently modified to match above). I am not suggesting you don't go with your change, I just wanted to let you know the background of it. I was unaware there had been a "prior infobox". I don't think it had been on any of the national parks I had looked at (particularly South Australia). As the person who said above to stick with one colour, I meant not to try to represent climate. I am happy to colour-code by status - especially as part of a world scheme.
