From Category talk:True crime writers[edit]

This page should be merged with Category:Non-fiction crime writers and all entries re classified. non-fiction crime writers is a slightly older category, but true crime seems more colloquial and more likely to be happened upon. Scarykitty 04:13, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's more colloquial, but a couple of months back the parent category was re-named from Category:True crime books to Category:Non-fiction crime books. So I'll support the merge, but probably not in the way originally suggested by Scarykitty. Cheers, Her Pegship 21:26, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
cool, wasn't aware of the other change. so let's merge true crime into non-fiction crime. and then make sure stuff redirects cause people will come looking for true crime, as I did. Got any recommendations for authors to branch out from Ann Rule? Scarykitty 20:49, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
also, what do you think will be the process for doing this merge? Will we have to go to each page, eg Truman Capote and re categorize him as a non fiction crime writer, not a crime writer. any easier way to do this? Scarykitty 20:50, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
There's a process at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion; I'll list these items there, and someone of admin status can do the dirty work. Cheers, Her Pegship 23:13, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
