Untitled[edit]

A question has been raised as to if the crime has to be committed when they were in political office for this category to apply ----Snowded TALK 00:12, 29 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

That requirement exists for US politicians, at least. Gob Lofa (talk) 17:26, 2 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You have a link to that? ----Snowded TALK 07:39, 4 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I note the lack of concrete evidence provided. However, I cannot see why the US category usage is being treated as precedent. What about the British category? What about the Australian category? They don't seem to follow this so-called rule. AusLondonder (talk) 08:34, 13 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The requirement comes from the parent category; see Wikipedia_talk:Categorization#Politicians_convicted_of_crimes. Gob Lofa (talk) 18:18, 22 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Category removal[edit]

Aus, what are you playing at? Gob Lofa (talk) 04:45, 13 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Just for once, make a case for a reverted change rather than demanding that other editors justify themselves to you. ----Snowded TALK 05:37, 13 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You mean against it? Gob Lofa (talk) 14:04, 13 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Snowded? Do you mean against it? And I'm not sure the two of you could be described as several. It's standard practice to list NI categories as both British and Irish. Don't take my word for it, have a look. Acquaint yourself. Gob Lofa (talk) 20:25, 13 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
If you make a change and it is reverted, then it is for you to make a case for the change you propose. You so far here (and elsewhere) either don't want to, or don't understand a very basic feature of wikipedia practice ----Snowded TALK 20:26, 13 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You're now coming across as willfully blind. What part of the reason I just gave for my edit don't you understand? Gob Lofa (talk) 20:35, 13 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
See previous response ----Snowded TALK 21:50, 13 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
That's my line. Gob Lofa (talk) 21:53, 13 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

British/Irish[edit]

It's common practice for NI categories to be categorised as both British and Irish, for example, the Criminals and Politicians categories that remain. If that's going to be changed, here's hardly the place to start. Gob Lofa (talk) 14:37, 25 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

While in office[edit]

The parent category has the condition that the crimes be committed while in office or running for it, and has done for five years. Again, if that's going to be changed, here's not the place. Gob Lofa (talk) 14:44, 25 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
