I would like to rename this category to Redox reactions. Since the parent category is 'Organic reactions', 'Organic redox reactions' is redundant. ~K 01:44, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Redox reactions should probably exist, but it would be a broader category than Category:Organic redox reactions and it would not be a subcategory of Category:Organic reactions. Two categories can't have the same name, even if they have different supercategories. —Keenan Pepper 09:27, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That's a good point that I hadn't considered. Do you think I should change 'Free radical reactions' to 'Organic free radical reactions'? ~K 15:37, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe. Some important inorganic free-radical reactions occur in the upper atmosphere; they would go in one category but not the other. —Keenan Pepper 18:57, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
