The "Wicked" series doesn't belong here[edit]

"Wicked" and "Son of a Witch" don't belong in this list, anymore than, say, "The Seven Per Cent Solution" belongs in a list of Sherlock Holmes stories.

As long as the Oz books aren't all categorized as children's books and I can find the adult Oz books in Adult categories. I have no issue with The Wicked Years series being in this category as they do take place in the land of Oz. I conciser these books relationship with the other Oz to be similar to the relationship between the 1978 and 2003 versions of Battlestar Galactica they are different interpretations of the same world and both belong in discussions of Battlestar Galactica just as both the Land of Oz books and The Wicked Years both belong a discussion of Oz. My issue is that this category shouldn't necessarily be classified as children's lit as The Wicked Years aside their are other Oz books that are in no way meant for children or young adults.

added the novel project box as some of the books in this catagory are novels that are not marketed to kids. Tydoni (talk) 18:01, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Category name[edit]

While I understand that Category:Oz (franchise) is so named in keeping with WP:CATNAME's rule "When an article topic requires disambiguation, any category eponymously named for that topic should include the same form of disambiguation, even if no other articles are likely to have an eponymous category" (though it is somewhat dubious whether that properly applies there, since there is no article "Oz (franchise)", but rather Land of Oz and List of Oz books, and I suspect that if there were a central page about Oz generally, it would in fact be named "Oz" without disambiguation—it's just that there's no need for such a page, suggesting the fat rat has tripped on his tail), I don't see how that extends to this category. Does anyone have thoughts on why this category needs "(franchise)" in the name? It's corresponding article, after all, is List of Oz books, which has no disambiguation. — the Man in Question (in question) 06:16, 31 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
