As the tendrils of urban sprawl slowly creep out into the surrounding nearby rural areas and real estate values inexorably rise, thereby displacing those family farms, Dublin seems destined to dominate its county as a minor megalopolis. In the distant future, this may also happen with Belfast, but not in a time frame that we need to concern ourselves with, thus we can tolerate the asymmetry of the Belfast duality and the County Dublin singularity.
