Category rename[edit]

@Mikhail Ryazanov: Please explain why did you rename this category from "Public domain software with source code" to "Public-domain software with source code"? There is no hyphen in the term "public domain". -- intgr [talk] 09:51, 9 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

There is no hyphen in the term "public domain" itself, but here it is used as a compound modifier and therefore must be hyphenated. Otherwise "public domain software" would mean "domain software that is public", where "domain software" might be, for example, software for domain controllers. — Mikhail Ryazanov (talk) 11:08, 9 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Mikhail Ryazanov: OK, that makes sense, thanks for the explanation. I noticed now that there's also a hyphen in "public-domain software" which mirrors this category. -- intgr [talk] 12:28, 9 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
