I find this category as it stands a little constricting. I have just begun to destub some of the South West Trains stations, and I find it difficult to show that on at least one of its suburban service routes the fact of part of being outside the strict connotation of London(ie in a London borough) means that the stations cannot be shown on this list. The route is the one to Shepperton: it is a branch line and Shepperton is the terminus. The line cannot but be classed as a London suburban line with a mere six stations, yet after the first two - and because we now leave Richmond Borough - and enter Spelthorne (an entirely made-up name for part of Surrey!) - the remaining stations are excluded from this list.

Much is made of the suburban railways in many of the main articles, and on the box often included - yet this tends to divide one up, quite arbitrarily! Peter Shearan 15:52, 26 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I have proposed a reform of this category that you might be interested in commenting on. See Category talk:Railway stations in the United Kingdom for details. Thryduulf 02:30, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
