Overlapping regions[edit]

From my reading of the Shoalhaven pages, it seems that that area is part of South Coast. But both have categories here. Is there a list of non-overlapping regions? Robin Patterson (talk) 12:31, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Non-overlapping regions[edit]

No such list is apparent here. Anyone wanting such a list can look at the Genealogy Wikia, which bases its regions outside Greater Sydney on those defined by the Department of Local Government (and having much in common with Australian Bureau of Statistics districts). Each region has an article and at least one category. Settlements and even counties are being listed in steadily growing numbers. Robin Patterson (talk) 12:22, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This discussion's been had on AWNB previously. We never came to an appropriate resolution which met Wikipedia's standards - ABS's categories are entirely their own. Riverina, South Coast, Central Coast, Hunter, Illawarra and the Blue Mountains are the only clear regions although their boundaries are not officially defined and considerable confusion exists at the edges.
