Category talk:Scottish artists by city
Name and scope of this category[edit]
Similar to a point I have previously raised at Category talk:Scottish politicians by city and Category talk:Scottish people by city and occupation, despite the name of this category being Scottish artists by city it includes Category:Artists from Paisley, Renfrewshire. Paisley is not one of the seven places in Scotland to have city status. This raises the question of whether that category should be removed from this category? I am in two minds about this, but if the answer is that it should be kept in here, then I would suggest that the name of this category needs to be changed to better reflect its scope. Something like Category:Scottish artists by city or town might be a better option in terms of accuracy, and would also fit in with existing categories such as Category:Footballers by city or town in Scotland, although I do wonder if it is a bit clunky.
