Scandals[edit]

The use of the word "scandal" in any context in Wikipedia is pov. Great for tabloids and blogs. Terrible for a publication which is supposed to be neutral. This should be dropped. Overlaps other categories anyway. Student7 19:50, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, not where the usage is widespread in the media. A scandal is an event. Whether the accusations or actions prove to be true or false is neither here nor there. As long as there are adequate third-party citations the term is perfectly fair. Pyrope 18:12, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The media does it to attract watchers so they can sell ads. Wikipedia is not fueled by a greed for ads. It should report events objectively without WP:POV. That is what the policy is for - to filter out media-frenzy. Student7 (talk) 15:04, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bill Clinton´s impeachment trial[edit]

You have not included the most famous sex scandal in the last years, the Clinton-Lewinsky affair. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.134.126.129 (talk) 15:34, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bill Cosby[edit]

Why is Bill Cosby on the list? There are no details of any sex scandal involving him on the link? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Surfingus (talkcontribs) 15:45, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is not a great category. Until we get rid of it, we are more like "People" or "National Enquirer" rather than an encylopedia.
To answer the question, it is real easy to get on the list. I believe Cosby had a child by a woman, not his wife, or was accused of doing so. Student7 (talk) 20:50, 18 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Assault scandals[edit]

Let's make an effort to remove from this category pages that are about rape or child abuse. These aren't "sex scandals," but crimes. –Roscelese (talkcontribs) 14:50, 30 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
