Scope[edit]

This category should be useable by average users. I think we should include guidance pages (WP:TOOLS, wp:syndication, wp:templates, etc.), but not individual user subpages and the like. Thanks for creating Zondor, been on the tip of my tounge. here 08:29, 11 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Following my original comment 15-30 pages have been added. To repeat, this should be easily parseable by uninvolved individuals. That means a small number of easy to understand pages in the category. Spamming the category with every user script serves no purpose but to destroy any utility in having the category at all. (In my opinion, and In this case...) here 09:40, 11 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Completly agree. Scripts should be collected in subcategory.-- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk  00:24, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Need someone smarter than me[edit]

To figure out what is intended with the [[Image:Wikipedia.vim]] weirdness at the bottom of the page. --Kickstart70-T-C 22:29, 11 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Or just generally what it's there for. Bugs me too. Anyone? --SheeEttin 00:49, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Vim is a text editor. The "image" at the bottom of the category is actually a plugin for Vim that makes it better for editing Wikipedia articles --Huffers 20:46, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could we have the users listing their monobook.js files here to move them to Category:Wikipedia User Javascripts?

I believe all such listings here are a mistake, occuring when a user accidentaly copies the Category the script is in. I msg all the users who have their monobooks listed here to address that issue.-- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk  00:23, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Subcategories[edit]

I propose we categorize each tool by type and by purpose. By type I mean whether it is 1) a stand-alone application requiring downloading of some files and installation on users computer 2) a web-based application 3) a script that needs to be copied to user's monobook 4) a wiki page collecting some useful links, advices or copy'n'paste templates and such. By purpose I mean whether the tool's purpose is counter-vadnalism, general copyediting help or other purpose.-- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk  00:23, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
