1848 is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language black comedy crime thriller film directed by Thamizh Thiyagarajan[1] and produced by MD Vijay. The film stars Junior MGR, Krisha Kurup, Anand Babu, Kadhal Sukumar, and Shab Jaan.[2][3] The film's music is composed by M Hariharasudhan, while the cinematography is handled by Saravanan Srii, who worked as the cinematographer for Infinity, and editing by MD Vijay.[4][5] Thamizh Thiyagarajan and MD Anand write the screenplay of this movie.
Plot[edit]
Madhi goes in search of Murugan's idol, but Senthil Murugan and Kalivarathan's men are in the way and overcome them and recover the idol and fulfill their purpose.[6]

Production[edit]
The film marked the directorial debut for Thamizh Thiyagarajan[7]. He had previously worked on the short film "Donna," which was selected in the Cannes Film Festival-Short Film Corner Category in May 2015[8]. Principal photography of the film was shot in Chennai, Pallavaram–Kundrathur–Poonamallee Road other potion of the film was shot in Chennai.
Development[edit]
In mid-June 2021, Thamizh Thiyagarajan pitched a script to MD Vijay, sparking the producer's interest in the project. However, the filmmakers ultimately selected Anand Babu for the film. The official launch, attended by Mohan G, Santhosh Prathap, and Pugazh, took place on 6 December 2022.[9] The title "1848" was revealed by Director Pa. Ranjith on his Twitter page on 1 September 2023.[10]
Filming[edit]
Regarding filming, principal photography started on 6 December 2022, with the initial schedule in Chennai, while the final schedule began in early September 2023.
