Aadhav Arjuna is a sports administrator, entrepreneur, political strategist, and philanthropist.[1][2][3][4] He is associated with organisations such as Arise Capital, the Basketball Federation of India, the Tamil Nadu Basketball Association, the Tamil Nadu Olympic Association, and Voice of Commons.[5][6][7][8][9]

Early life and education[edit]

Arjuna was born on April 12, 1982, in Trichy, India, in an agricultural family. His interest in basketball developed during his schooling at Ramakrishna Mission School. He pursued Political Science at Madras Christian College in Chennai, where he received a merit scholarship.[10][11]

Career[edit]

In 2016, Arjuna founded ARISE Investments to empower rural women financially.[12][13]

He transitioned from basketball to sports administration in 2017, holding significant roles and eventually becoming the President of the Basketball Federation of India in 2023.[14][15][16]

Arjuna is also involved in Tamil Nadu's political scene, contributing to the DMK party and founding Voice of Commons to encourage political participation among youth.[17][18]

Awards and recognition[edit]

Arjuna has received recognition for his contributions, including the Best Sports Administrator award at the Ananda Vikatan-Nambikai Awards 2022, Sports Icon at the Galatta Crown 2022, and the Best Organizer award from M.K. Stalin, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, in 2019.
