Abdel Aziz Ibn Abdullah Ibn Mohamed Al Ahmad, commonly known as Abdel Aziz Al Ahmed or Abdulazziz Ahmed, is a popular Quran reciter from Saudi Arabia. He was born in Burraida (Buraydah), in the month of Rajab (20) in 1387 according to the Islamic calendar (1967, according to the normal calendar). He studied the Holy Quran and Hadiths under the guidance of various reputable sheikhs such as Abdullah Al Bassam, Soulaimane Al Ghafis, and Abdul Aziz Al Harbi. He later on became a renowned reciter due to his soothing yet modest manner of the Qur'an recitation, which earned him a top spot in the religious community in Saudi Arabia.

His Life[edit]

From 1394 through to 1400, Abdel Aziz Al Ahmed attended Al Malik Al Abd Aaziz school for his primary education. He later on joined the International Institute of Barrida where, with the help of various professors (mashayiks), he studied different religious books including the Ahl Al îilm for six years. Upon his graduation in 1406, he joined the psychological branch at Mohammed Bin Saôud University for another four years and graduated in 1410.[1]. He later on travelled to the United States to get his Bachelor's degree in Psychology, around 1417. Two years later, he got his PHD in Riyadh. He also got another doctorate degree in Sharia and Islamic Sciences.

He got a teaching position at Ibn Saoud University and then became part of the staff at Al Kassim University around the same time. Further along, he became an Imam and a Qur'an reciter and has recited the Holy Qur'an[2] at various mosques including Al Badaoui’s mosque located in Makkah, and Arrachid as well as Ibn Sobaih mosques that are both located in Al Kassim. Sheikhs who have been present during his recitations include Sheikh Abd Al Harbi and The Sheikh Suleiman Ibn Abd Allah Al Ghafidh[3]. There are also recordings made for his recitations that include Tarawih (1414-1415) and Al Morattal (1422)[4]

He is an active participant in many Islamic events that deal with various Islamic-related topics. He does interviews and give lectures across Saudi Arabia and the United States. Some of the television shows he has been featured on include Assharika, The National Television of Saudi Arabia, and Al Majd. He is currently situated in Moâddir Street at Al Amir Abd Arrahmane Ibn Abd Allah in Riyadh, where he is the Imam.
