Abel Mikaelian (birth name Abel Mikaeljan; born April 2, 1993 in Yerevan, Armenian SSR, Soviet Union), also known as Abel Gevor, is a German professional boxer of Armenian descent. He is the younger brother of Noel Mikaelian and boxed at light heavyweight. Abel Mikaelian boxes as a southpaw.

Personal life and boxing career[edit]

After graduating from high school, he followed his older brother and turned professional at the age of just 19. He fought his debut fight on July 7, 2012 for the EC Boxpromotion in Hamburg. He later moved to Sauerland Event and fought his first fight for Sauerland Event on August 16, 2014 at the Messehalle in Erfurt[1] and won by unanimous decision on points against Attila Palko from Hungary.[2] He fought his last fight under the Sauerland stable on October 14, 2016,[3] when he won by unanimous decision on points against Alexander Hagen (9-1)[4], who was also under contract with Sauerland Event. Mikaelian was initially trained by his ex-stepfather Khoren Gevor. He also supports his brother Noel as a sparring partner in preparation for his fights. Mikaelian is unbeaten in 13 professional fights and has won 5 of them early.[5]

Abel Mikaelian lives in Hamburg and also works as a lawyer. He also works as a manager[6] and currently manages WBC cruiserweight world champion Noel Mikaelian.[7][8]
