Plot[edit]

A young flower maker is seduced into abandoning her groom-to-be, a decent worker from a humble background, in favor of a wealthy and characterless chap. The decision is quickly followed by a lot of misfortune coming her way. Her mother who disapproves of her daughter's new lifestyle is devastated and soon dies. Her brother, already struggling with lung disease, also breathes his last.. When the flower girl discovers that her bon vivant lover is cheating on her, she shoots him dead. The flower girl serves out her prison sentence.

Years later, the flower girl's former fiancé is now happily married and has become the father to a beautiful daughter. When the flower girl is released from prison, she goes to her former boyfriend, whom she had so shamefully abandoned. But his wife turns her away at the front door. The ex-fiancée then goes into the forest where the worker is busy felling trees. His wife and daughter are also on their way there to bring him lunch. His daughter is about to be crushed by a falling tree, but is saved at the last moment by the flower maker. Out of gratitude, the girl's mother takes the unfortunate woman into her house.
