Addira Collette (born 11 September 2005) is an athlete from New Zealand who competes over 100m and 200m.[1]

Career[edit]

Addira, and her twin sister Chayille, took up the sport at the age of ten and are coached by George McConachy. They are based in Palmerston North. Their parents are from Trinidad & Tobago.[2]

Collette won the New Zealand schools 200m title and New Zealand u18 100m title in 2022. In the New Zealand u18 200m race she finished second behind her twin sister Chayille. In January 2023 both sisters reached the final of the Potts Classic 100m and 200m races in Hastings. Addira beat Chayille into second over 200m. In the 100m race Zoe Hobbs won in a wind-assisted national record time and the Addira finished fifth.[3] In March 2023 Addira ​and her twin Chayille ​finished in a dead heat in the under-20 100m final at the New Zealand national track and field championships, held in Wellington.[4]

In March 2024, she won the New Zealand under-20 title over 200 metres, in Wellington.[5]
