Ahmed M. Badr (born August 9, 1998) is a 24-year-old Iraqi-American author, poet, and social entrepreneur working at the intersection of creativity, displacement, and youth empowerment.[1] He is the founder and executive director of Narratio,[2] a global platform for youth empowerment through creative expression, publishing content from over 18 countries across three continents.[3] In 2021, he became a National Geographic Young Explorer Young Explorers.[4] His work is featured across institutions such as SAP, OECD, TEDxTeen, Instagram, NPR, Global Citizen, and others. Biography[edit]

Badr was born in Baghdad, where his home was bombed by militia groups [6] he relocated to Syria for two years, and later to the United States, where he lives.

He authored the book, 'While the Earth Sleeps We Travel: Stories, Poetry, and Art from Young Refugees Around the World'[7] which features the stories, art, and poetry of displaced youth through their own narratives. The book features a Foreword by UN Goodwill Ambassador Ben Stiller.

He founded the Narratio Fellowship Programme which amplifies the stories, art, and creativity of displaced youth. The Fellowship hosts Summer workshops partnering with Universities and Museums to showcase the fellow's work, hosting exhibitions at the MET Museum. [8] [9]

Ahmed is the host of the Resettled Podcast under Virginia Public Media (VPM)[10] and a co-moderator of the World Bank, Connect4Climate, and the Office of the UN Secretary General’s Envoy on Youth's online series Youth4Climate, featuring guests like the United Nations Deputy Secretary General, Amina J. Mohammed, and Climate Activists from around the world. [11]
