  • Comment: No--still lacks sourcing that proves notability. The XXL article is about some tweets and says nothing about this mixtape, and the chatty Stashed article isn't much of a source, and doesn't say anything about the tape--"chatty" is actually an understatement for what that web page is. Along Came Joyner is the third mixtape by American rapper Joyner Lucas. It was released on April 1, 2015 by Dead Silence.[1]

Background[edit]

This mixtape contained his critically acclaimed "Ross Capicchioni". Ross Capicchioni is a Detroit teenager who became popular after being a victim of violent crime and surviving 3 gunshots by another child who he considered a friend. [2] [3] [4] [5]Following the success of the song, Lucas was featured in the 2015 BET Hip-Hop Awards Cypher. Originally intended to appear in the online-only cypher, he was later promoted to rap as part of the live broadcast cyphers based on the strength of his initial performance.[6][7]

The album depicts the journey of extraterrestrials to planet Earth and the different hardships they encounter along the journey. Each of the skits serves as an introduction for the storyline of the next track. During an August 2014 interview with RESPECT Magazine, Joyner said: "I get inspired by different people. My love for music was the main factor, the different types of vibes that moved me. The game is real saturated with a ton of projects so this project was my sarcastic way of saying, “Well… here comes Joyner.”[8][9]
