Angel J Ventura is a filmmaker.
He studied cinema at one of the best colleges in Mexico “The University of Monterrey” (UDEM), but after a while, he left college due to the limited time he had for his projects and continued to pursue the making of his debut feature film. Six long weeks were what he considered bearable.[1]
He is currently working on the Post-Production of his second movie “The Cringy Life of a Replaceable Kid”, expected to premiere around 2027. With this, Angel J Ventura consolidated Axl Red and Nay Cabrales as recurrent and only crew partners. “TCLOARK” as well as “Internal Bleeding” have been limited to a three-person crew.
Early Life[edit]
At the age of 6 (2010), Angel began making short films and sketches for his YouTube channel “PEDOCLEYK STUDIOS”, which is a word he invented around that age, and a fictional movie studio to date. With the help of his brother “Axl Red” acting and sometimes creative writing, he made over 150 videos for his YouTube channel. Those videos are cataloged into two categories: Absurd Comedy, and Disturbing Horror. Since they vary from surrealist plots to macabre happenings. Both genres tinged “Internal Bleeding” storyline, thus a black humor drama.[2]
His love for storytelling and visuals never extinguished, but during his teen years, it morphed into the project of becoming a musician, he released seven original songs, accompanied by seven spectacularly creative and funny low-budget music videos made all by himself, except Axl Red’s contribution as the camera operator. Angel J Ventura returned the favor to his brother by directing and producing a bunch of his music videos in exchange. They are long-time collaborators since Angel recently did the color correction and developed as an associate producer for Axl Red: ALONE (Musical, 2023), available on Vimeo on Demand.[3]
During the composition of his eighth original song, he wrote a story that later became his last short film “Poet Girl” (2021). His first professional project. The one that revived that fervent desire to make cinema. Since he was practicing as a new musician, he composed an entire original short film soundtrack, in the wake of the eighth song he planned on realizing, which became “Mr. Sommers” and later morphed into “Poet Girl (Theme)”. During that time he met two people who became frequent collaborators, Leizy, who made some artworks for his original songs, and later participated as an extra and contributed as a sketch artist with some props in “The Cringy Life of a Replaceable Kid”, and Tania Carbajal, who starred as Katie in “Poet Girl” and contributed with voice acting and tattoo designs, also for his upcoming movie “TCLOARK”.[4]
After the release of “Poet Girl”, Angel J Ventura was working on the screenplay of a short film titled “Internal Bleeding”, and it was Nay Cabrales (his girlfriend and long-time collaborator) who convinced him to turn the short into a feature, and the rest is history.[5]
