Anne E. Carl is an American attorney and politician residing in Bisbee, Cochise County, Arizona. Anne served as the Civil and Criminal Deputy for the Cochise County Attorney from 2003 to 2010. Thereafter she opened a solo law practice to represent clients through 2020. Anne is currently a commercial and residential property manager and a candidate for the Cochise County Recorder in the 2024 election.[1]

Early life and education[edit]

Anne Carl was born and raised in Schenectady, New York and Westfield, New Jersey, the fifth of six children. Anne's parents were both public school teachers. Anne's father also served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Anne's education includes:

  • Juris Doctor degree (Cum Laude) in Law from the University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona in 2003.
  • Master of Arts degree in Education from the University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona in 1997.
  • Bachelor of Arts degree (Phi Beta Kappa, Cum Laude) from Union College in Schenectady, New York in 1988.

Anne's professional experience includes:

  • Interim Bisbee City Attorney from 2014 to 2015[2]
  • Law Office of Anne Carl PLC from 2010 to 2020
  • Deputy Cochise County Attorney from 2003 to 2010
  • Two Partners Inc. property management from 2012 to present

Community volunteer activities[edit]

Anne has served her local community through volunteer activities including:

  • Old Bisbee Firewise - Cofounder and Board Member from 2018 to 2021[3]
  • Cochise Education Foundation Board - Board Member from 2010 to 2014 and President from 2013 to 2014
  • Women's Transition Project - Board Member from 2006 to 2010
  • Wills for Heroes - Pro-bono attorney from 2005 to 2009

Elections[edit]

Cochise County Recorder in the 2024 election. Anne is a candidate.[4][5]

Cochise County Superior Court, Division 5 Judge in the 2020 election. Anne joined this race as a write-in candidate six months before the election. Anne came in second with 30.28% of the vote to Jason Lindstrom's 31.95% of the vote.[6][7][8]
