Draft:Are Ahmedis Muslim?

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ahmadis are generally agreed not to be part of Islam unanimously by non-Ahmadi scholars. But why?[1]

Ahmadis believe that their founder, Mirza Ghulam Ahmed [2], is a Prophet. This is debunked by the Prophet Muhammad's statement, "No Prophet after me." [3] However, Ahmadis re-interpret and misinterpret this by stating that La (the Arabic word for no) is their founder's name in a different language. This has been debunked due to the fact that all languages spoken at the time of the Prophet Muhammad, when La is translated into them, none of them give the result of Mirza Ghulam Ahmed or anything remotely similar. This is why, in many Muslim countries, Ahmadis are not allowed to state them being Muslim until they renounce being an Ahmadi.

DISCLAIMER:

  • No disrespect is intended to any Ahmadi. This has been written from the point of view of a non-Ahmadi. This is to inform people of the Ahmadi faith and how it is different from mainstream Islam.
  • Islam forbids splitting into denominations/sects.[4] The Quran says in 6:159,

"إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَرَّقُوا۟ دِينَهُمْ وَكَانُوا۟ شِيَعًۭا لَّسْتَ مِنْهُمْ فِى شَىْءٍ ۚ إِنَّمَآ أَمْرُهُمْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ يُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْعَلُونَ - ١٥٩"

"Indeed, you ˹O Prophet˺ are not responsible whatsoever for those who have divided their faith and split into sects. Their judgment rests only with Allah. And He will inform them of what they used to do."[5]
