Art Forum Ute Barth is a Swiss modern and contemporary art gallery located in Zurich, Switzerland.[1][2] It was founded by gallerist Ute Barth in 1995[3] who worked for a decade in auction houses before establishing Art Forum Ute Barth.[2]
Art Forum Ute Barth is specialised primarily in avant-garde art from the 1940s to today – from the Abstract expressionism of the New York School to young emerging European and American artists. The gallery organises around eight shows per year, of which four are one-person shows.[1] It also hosts an award for artists below the age of 33, the "Young Art Award", as a way to give artists at the beginnings of their careers a network to showcase their work. Some of the gallery's exhibited artists include: Not Vital[4], Dieter Kränzlein[5], Eberhard Ross[6], Judith Trepp[7], Meike Entenmann, Hans Thomann, Sarah Plimpton[8][9], Marie von Heyl[10], Patrizia Kränzlein[11], and Maja Malmcrona[12].
In 2011, the Swiss artist Not Vital exhibited his winning competition proposal "The No Problem Sculpture" at Art Forum Ute Barth.[13] The sculpture is an archaic-looking concrete block located in Zürich West, Switzerland.[14]
In 2023, Art Forum Ute Barth participated in the art fair Art Salon Zurich with works by artists Dieter Kränzlein, Eberhard Ross, Maja Malmcrona, Mahroo Movahedi, Patrizia Kränzlein, and Anna Handick.[15][16]
The gallery is located in a historic timber-framed house from the 17th century in Zurich's Seefeld neighbourhood. [2]
