BOOM (boomlive.in) is an Independent digital Journalism initiative, based in India, with head office in Mumbai, focusing on combating and fighting Misinformation and providing the internet safety. It operates as fact checking website and known for its multilingual content. Its founded by Mr. Govindraj Ethiraj[1][2][3], a print and television Journalist.
History[edit]
BOOM was founded in 2014 as an investigative project and evolved as a Factchecking website in November, 2016. It gained recognition as one of the first International Fact Checking Network (IFCN) certified[4] and was the first from India to collaborate with Facebook's Third Party Fact Checking Programme[5][6][7][8][9]. Recently BOOM joined Misinformation Combat Alliance (MCA)[10], a network of 14 Factcheckers in India.

As an IFCN Signatory, BOOM adheres to standard of nonpartisanship, fairness, transparency of sources, funding, methodology and maintain open correction policy.
Languages and International presence[edit]
BOOM provides content in English, Hindi and Bengali in India. BOOM also has its presence in Bangladesh[11], and Myanmar[12]. This highlights its roles in addressing misinformation in South Asia.

BOOM is recognized for its fact-checks and investigative reports that addresses viral misinformation, political claims and social media trends. its work contributes to public discourse and understanding in the digital age to fight against Misinformation with threats to personal and professional life.[13]
BOOM founder awarded 2018 McNulty Price Laureate[14] in recognition for leadership with BOOM, Indiaspend and Factchecker.
