Baharash Bagherian is an Architect, urban planner and author.[1][2][3]
Career[edit]
Baharash was previously the founder of London-based design studio 'Baharash Architecture'.[4][5] He was also previously the Design Director of 'Diamond Developers' in Dubai.[6][7] He is currently the CEO of URB, a company based in Dubai Design District which is working on sustainable developments.[8][9][10]. He has been nominated for several awards in his field.[11][12][13]He also heads the URB Incubator, an innovation hub centered around sustainable cities.[14][15]
Key works[edit]
In 2013, he won the competition to design the phase 2 of 'The Sustainable City in Dubai'.[16][17][18] Following the construction of the project, he designed several new cities,[19][20][21] including the world's first climate positive city,[22] which was selected as one of the top 50 most influential projects in the world of 2022 by Project Management Institute.[23] He is also the designer of The Loop, a 93km cycling highway, climate-controlled year-round structure designed to promote cycling and walking as a primary mode of transport for people in Dubai.[24][25] Dubai Reefs, a project to create the world's largest artificial reef in Dubai was masterminded by Baharash.[26][27][28]
