Lieutenant-Colonel Benjamin Bradley Sample (April 7, 1844 – April 9, 1865) was a junior officer in the Confederate States Army who commanded Infantry in the Western theater of the American Civil War.[1]

Born in Atlanta,[2] Sample served in the 63rd Georgian Infantry Regiment of the Confederate States Army and later the 5th Florida Calvary Battalion during the American Civil War. He progressed from being a Private Soldier in the local militia to a regiment commander. He fought in many unsuccessful campaigns throughout the war, especially the Battle of Perryville, the Battle of Stones River, and the Battle of Missionary Ridge but later saw some success in Florida. Sample was killed defending the fortifications works at the Battle of Fort Blakeley.[3]
