Beroth Bullard Eggleston (July 14, 1818 - was a commanding officer of a cavalry regiment from Ohio in the Union Army during the American Civil War and served as a government official in Mississippi after the war. He moved to Kansas after the Reconstruction era ended. He accepted the surrender of Atlanta, Georgia and commanded the city. He settled in Mississippi and served as a delegate at the Constitutional Convention of 1868. He became the body's president. After Reconstruction he removed to Kansas.[1]
Eggleston served in the 1st Ohio Cavalry. One of his subordinates had a court martial hearing for trying to get Eggleston to resign.[2]
His photograph is part of the collection developed by Frederick Hill Meserve.[3]
