Matthew Garrett Evans, known professionally as Big Daddy Swolls (or Swolls) is an American rapper, actor and fitness enthusiast based out of Hollywood California.[citation needed] He is known for his songs such as Mary Go Round, Burn Up, Get With This and Summertime.[citation needed]

Early Life[edit]

Matthew Evans, was born on August 31, 1982, in Mountain View, California. Matthew's early years were marked by poverty and lack of stability, as he and his single mother navigated the complexities of economic and social hardships.[1][2]

In his early school years, Matthew encountered adversity, including bullying, which affected his academic performance and led to a more reserved demeanor. He later developed resilience, preserving his self-identity in the face of external pressures.[1][2]

After high school, Matthew joined the United States Marines Corps.[citation needed] He later went on to earn a business degree from San Jose State University and then moved to Los Angeles, where he worked as a bodyguard for music artists like MC Hammer and Nicki Minaj and DJ Quik.[citation needed] This gave him insight into the music industry, leading him to pursue a music career.[1][2]

His tracks, including "Get With This," "Roll It Back," "Mary Go Round," and "Summertime," which went on to be number one on Sirus XM radio.[citation needed]
