Birmingham Iron Age was a newspaper for whites in Birmingham, Alabama and Jefferson County, Alabama[1] from 1874 to 1901.

The newspaper merged with Rufus N. Rhodes' Daily Herald November 8, 1888 to form the Birmingham Age-Herald. The building features high Victorian Italianate architecture.[2] In 1901 Alabama instituted a new constitution to disenfranchise African Americans.

In 2020 the newspaper's building was purchased and a redevelopment plan launched.[3] The building is at 212 20th Street North and was constructed in 1886. It is one of two surviving cast-iron building fronts in Birmingham. The Zinser Building is the other. The newspaper's 3-story building was also home to The Birmingham Age-Herald.[4]

Issues have been digitized and are available online.[5]
