John Quincy Adams Brackett Elementary School is a public elementary school located in Arlington , Massachusetts. The school is named after the former Massachusetts governor John Q. A. Brackett. As of 2023, the school enrolled 425 students.[3] In 2016 Brackett Elementary school was awarded the Blue Ribbon Award.[2]

The school features the Bracket After School Program (BASP), having programming for enrolled students from school dismissal to 6:00 pm.[4]

John Q. A. Brackett Elementary School has been serving the students Arlington since 1931. The schools original construction was home to high ceilings, tall windows, and warm wooden trim common of the era.[2] During the Second World War the school kept watch over 66 victory gardens planted in the adjacent Robbins Farm Park.[5]

In 1999 a new 3 story, 57,000 square foot building replaced the original.[2] In 2016 the Massachusetts Department of Secondary and Elementary Education awarded Brackett Elementary school with the Blue Ribbon Award. An award given to schools for high achievement, narrowing achievement gaps between groups of students, or making strong progress.
