The Canton Mail (1865–1883) was a newspaper in Canton, Mississippi. It aas affiliated with the Democrat Party. Singleton Garrett owned and edited the paper as well as its successor the Canton Picket (1883 - 1909).[1] Archives of the paper are available online.[2] It was published Saturdays.[3]
It competed with John F. Bosworth's American Citizen, a newspaper with Whig Party roots.[4] Emmett L. Ross was one of the Canton Mail's publishers.[1]
