A Favorite Nursery Scene is an 1898 British silent short film. Spanning all of 1 minute 35 seconds, this black-and-white comedy film was produced by Robert W. Paul.[1]

Storyline[edit]

A mother puts her two boys to bed, who quickly fall asleep and the mother leaves the room. Their sister sneaks into the room and tickles the boys and hides under the bed. The boys wake up and blame each other. They com to blows in the bed and then grapple on the floor, before their altercation becomes a pillow fight. The pillows soon burst, filling the room with the snow-like feathers. The mother walks in, grabs the boys, gives one of them a moderate spanking before the two lads are again tucked in. When the mother is picking up the feathers, she finds her daughter hiding under the bed. She is promptly dragged out and receives the late 19th century version of on-the-spot justice from her mother. After a couple of smacks, the mother takes her daughter out and closes the door behind her.[2]
