Cristina Fernandez is an L.A. based performer, educator, writer and translator, originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Cristina's latest writing is featured in Our Red Book, a collection about periods across all stages of life, published by Simon & Schuster. She has worked as a translator and script adaptor for plays, films and television. Recent credits include Erlina Ortiz’ “La Egoista,” for Skylight Theatre and Actors Theatre Of Louisville.

Cristina has performed at numerous festivals and venues, including Skirball Cultural Center, Miami Light Project, Hammer Museum, Comedy Store, Laugh Factory, LTC Comedy Carnaval, LAX Festival, Radar LA, and SXSW. She has taught at California Institute Of The Arts, New York Film Academy, Grand Park, Nomad Lab, L.A. Philharmonic’s After School Programs and Ramon C. Cortines High School Of Visual & Performing Arts.

Cristina recently wrapped on the film, 1972, directed by Marissa Chibas. The film is part of Sundance Feature Film Development Program.

Cristina saw her television breakout with her co-star role in the NBC hit comedy, Powerless. Her episode was written by the comedian Sabrina Jalees

Cristina has worked alongside Conan O'Brien, Christopher Guest and James Franco.

Cristina is also fiercely committed to amplifying artist parents of color as chief L.A. rep for PAAL, (Parent Artist Advocacy League). She received her MFA in Acting from CalArts. Cristina was born to Cuban parents and is originally from Puerto Rico. Yes, it’s part of the United States.
