D’Seanté Parks is a leader in the civic engagement space and the founder and CEO of the civic empowerment platform 1000 MORE.[1]

Early life, family, & education

Parks was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, and her family has roots in Shreveport, Louisiana.

She earned a political communication degree from Louisiana State University[2], where she contributed to several publications on the roots of propaganda in America. Parks received her Master of Public Policy degree from the Harvard Kennedy School. She contributed to various publications while at Harvard, including a handbook to provide political campaigns with the tools to combat misinformation and disinformation.

Career

Parks started her national career at SKDK, working closely with Anita Dunn and Hilary Rosen. While at SKDK, she took meetings at the White House and was involved in historic electoral campaigns. Parks went on to serve in fundraising and partnerships roles on United States Senate campaigns, including those of former U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu and Vice President Kamala Harris. Later in her career, she returned to SKDK as Senior Vice President.[3]

Parks developed the 1000 MORE civic technology web application[4] as a one-stop shop for constituents. She authored A Journalist's Diplomatic Mission: Ray Stannard Baker's World War I Diary (From Our Own Correspondent)[5] and The Election Influence Operations Playbook[6]. Parks is also an Echoing Green fellow[7], a Camelback Ventures fellow[8], a Belfer Young Leader Student Fellow at Harvard, where she published The Election Influence Operations Playbook[9], and a Slauson & Co x Grid 110 Friends & Family fellow.
