Harvard & Stanford Trained Cervical Spine & Minimally Invasive Spine Surgeon[edit]

As an Associate Professor of Spinal Surgery, Dr. Darren R. Lebl specializes in microsurgery, motion-preserving spine treatments, cervical spine surgery, and minimally invasive surgery. To help each patient achieve optimal musculoskeletal health and quality of life, he provides a personalized approach.

Dr. Lebl received honors in three majors—chemistry, economics, and biochemistry and molecular biology—after graduating from The University of Chicago. After receiving a scholarship to Stanford for medical school, he completed his surgical residency at Harvard, earned an MBA at Wharton, and worked at the Hospital for Special Surgery in a specialist surgical fellowship. With international leaders in the USA, China, Japan, Spain, and Germany, he sought additional subspecialty training in spinal deformity surgery, occipitocervical disorders, and disorders of the cervical spine.

Dr. Lebl served as the Harvard Medical School Orthopaedic Journal's Chief Editor. He was given the privilege of working at Massachusetts General Hospital as the academic Chief Resident. The American orthopedic Association, the oldest and most prestigious orthopedic association in the world, later named him a "emerging leader" for his contributions to research and education.

Regarding minimally invasive treatments, degenerative disorders, mobility preserving technology, cervical spine problems, and spinal surgical complications, he has written several book chapters and peer-reviewed publications. Additionally, Dr. Lebl has taken part in medical missions to Ghana and the Gambia in West Africa.

Dr. Lebl oversaw the Complex Cervical Spine Symposium at HSS, which invites top cervical spine surgeons from across the world to New York for a CME-accredited surgeon-training course and educational exchange. Additionally, Dr. Lebl collaborates on technological advancements to enhance spine surgery and patient outcomes with a number of cutting-edge medical device businesses.

In addition to being a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Lebl is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He participates actively in eminent organizations including the Scoliosis Research Society, the North American Spine Society, and the Cervical Spine Research Society.

In addition to performing spine surgeries and providing treatment for patients on four continents, Dr. Lebl has been invited to give lectures at numerous regional, national, and worldwide academic conferences. Elite professional sportsmen, patients from various countries, musicians, other medical professionals, and high achievers have all been among his private patients.
