  • Comment: I don't see notability either per WP:GNG or per WP:NBAND. What the value of a TikTok chart is, who knows, but the coverage is minimal, and there clearly aren't two albums on a notable record label. Drmies (talk) 22:01, 26 April 2024 (UTC)

Biography[edit]

Dani was born in Manassas, Virginia and wrote her first song when she was 6. She grew up in Fairfax county until age 10 when her family relocated to Tokyo, Japan for her father’s job. They lived there until she entered high-school, and then returned to Virginia where Dani finished out her high school years at Chantilly High and went on to graduate and receive degrees in Music and English from Virginia Tech, despite her teachers failing her from her vocal performance major, she created her own degree called Musical Analysis and had it passed by the Dean at the school of Music. She now lives in Nashville, TN.

Dani’s first large-scale performance win came in 2009 during a stand off round at Amateur Night at the Apollo Theatre in NYC where she was asked to sing Aretha Franklin’s “Chain of Fools” and placed as #1. From 2009-2011 she hosted a tv show on PBS in Washington, DC called ‘Strictly Global.’ She founded and fronted a band from 2014 – 2022, and then decided to go solo using her own name Dani Rose. Her song ‘Got It From My Mama’ reached #2 on the US TikTok charts with over 1 billion views and over 1 million user generated content pieces. In December of 2023, her cover of Soundgarden’s ‘Burden In My Hand’ landed on Rolling Stone’s ‘Songs You Need To Know’ list.[2]

On March 29, 2024 she was featured nationally on CBS Mornings as part of their MixTape mornings segment.
